The PLACE Collaboratory (Partnerships for Listening and Action by Communities and Educators) ran from 2019-2023. The collaboratory was a network of eight projects in four cities, focused on humanities-based civic engagement and including 12 academic institutions and more than 20 community partners. Students were also key co-creators and leaders in PLACE.  The projects produced important public art and humanities work, as well as yielding valuable learnings for higher education, social change, public humanities, and university-community partnerships.
