Projects of the BT2P Community

Regional Community Engagement Council, Albany, New York

Description:

With a Multi-Institutional Innovation Grant from Bringing Theory to Practice, eight colleges and universities in the Albany, New York region created the Regional Community Engagement Council, building on previous informal collaborations and a shared commitment to community-based learning.  The RCEC launched a learning community of Engaged Scholar Teachers, small grants for the development of community-engagement courses, and a peer-mentoring initiative.  It is a particularly strong demonstration of the value of regional collaboration among diverse sectors.
