Bringing It #28: End-of-Year Reflections, Grants, Conferences, and Grantee Spotlights

In our last Bringing It of 2019, we wanted to thank you for the joy you have brought us as thought partners and collaborators. This time of year serves as an opportunity to reflect on the successes, challenges, and relationships of the last year. Grant Opportunity: 20X30’s Network Activation Seed Fund 
You may recall from our last Bringing It that our friends at 20×30 received funding from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation. These funds will help launch a Network Activation Fund to support collaborative mini-grants that advance 20×30’s four improvement goals. The grants range from $500-$4,000 and must include multiple organizations and/or institutions of higher education. We are happy to share the application with you! For those of you who are not already 20×30 members, you will need to follow steps 1-3 to register for a free account and access the application. Best of luck!

Interfaith Leadership Institute – August 7-9, 2020 
Interfaith Youth Core’s (IFYC) annual Interfaith Leadership Institute (ILI), in Chicago, IL, is a three-day workshop that equips undergraduate students and educators with the skills to bring the movement for interfaith cooperation back to their campuses and communities. Learn more here, and sign up to be the first to know when registration opens in March 2020 and receive a $50 discount. The discount code BTPILI provides you, as a member of the BTtoP community, with $100 off the $299 registration fee and is stackable with other discounts. Grantee Spotlight: Metropolitan State University, Carleton College, Minneapolis College, and Minnesota Campus Compact
Last spring a team from Metropolitan State University, Carleton College, Minneapolis College, and Minnesota Campus Compact received one of our MIG grants to promote education and mobilization around Census 2020 for institutions of higher education in Minnesota. They hosted a two-day summer census institute that brought together 50 individuals from over 20 networks and higher education institutions across the state.

They are now providing mini-grants to a wide range of colleges across the state for curricular development as well as action grants that will increase participation in the census and a more complete count. The grantees are also pushing all Minnesota institutions—and offering funding support and swag—to organize complete count committees.

Look for Us at AAC&U’s Annual Meeting
BTtoP will continue our new tradition of hosting fishbowl sessions on key themes of our work at AAC&U’s Annual Meeting in Washington, DC this January.  On January 23 we will host two fishbowl discussions:
